Yet another storm will pound England Monday and Tuesday. In fact, there will hardly be a break in the rainfall through the middle of the upcoming week.
Rainfall of 1-3 inches will soak northern England, Scotland and Ireland. This
includes Cumbria County, England, where the flooding has been the worst.
A national record rainfall for England occurred in Cumbria County this past
week when more than a foot of rain fell in just 24 hours.
Flood waters swept through the cities of Cockermouth and Workington. A police
officer was killed trying to direct traffic away from a bridge in Workington
when it collapsed.
Rain is falling across Cumbria county this weekend. There will only be a brief
break before more heavy rain is likely Monday and Tuesday.
