The storm currently drenching parts of the South will move eastward along the
Gulf Coast Saturday and begin its journey northward up the Eastern Seaboard
late Saturday into Sunday. The brunt of the rain Sunday will target the
Carolinas, with wet weather extending northward into the Delmarva Peninsula by
the afternoon. The storm will then spread wind and rain into the Northeast
Sunday night and Monday.
While this will be a widespread rain event for the East Coast, the storm will
pale in comparison to the damage left behind by the last coastal system.
However, minor coastal flooding could occur at times of high tide along the
Middle Atlantic coast Sunday night and Monday as strengthening, east to
northeast winds push water toward the coast.
