Ida Still a Tropical Storm

Ida continues to spin over the Northwestern Caribbean Sea and is approaching hurricane strength as it church north-northwest. For more details, see the Atlantic Basin Summary.


In the Eastern Pacific basin, we are tracking two weak areas of low pressure, but neither are on the verge of becoming a depression or storm. For more information, please consult the Eastern Pacific Summary.


A cluster of showers and thunderstorms west of the Marshall Islands has become Tropical Depression 25W. For further details, please see the Western Pacific Basin Summary.
