Henry,
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and I love MeteoMadness. Unfortunately, most of your blogs concentrate on your area of PA and the East Coast cities. When mentioning major cities, don't forget about Cincinnati. There's a lot of snow lovers down here too. I was in Dallas Texas last year when we got buried with 18 inches of snow. I missed it!! Looking forward to a cold and snowy 2008-2009 season. Rememeber Cincinnati!!

Henry,
Any chance the cold air shifts to the east as we go through December? Or sooner? I guess there's always a chance. I'm in Northern Va and dying for a snowstorm.

Henry I just viewed the graphic for the extreme cold next week and I got to say what is up? First this week was supposed to be extremely cold along the NE and the numbers have only been going up all week and now to see this new graphic almost seems like a joke or a surefire way to make sure the cold is anything but extreme:

Henry.
I have never yet seen a hurricane in Goodland KS. I too love storm chasers but wonder if the TIV will ever catch a tornado from the inside. Another great show is Ice Road Truckers. Imagine driving that road for a living.

Henry~
Gotta question for you. With regard to the local forecast on Accuweather.com, what exactly is the "Weather Alarm" area for? It will detail how much snow, heavy rain, or winds an area is supposed to experience. Over the last few weeks, the Peckville (where I reside) Weather Alarm has posted that over a course of days we might see various inches of snow. Today's latest "alarm" has us listed as expecting 8.4 inches of snow over the next few days. These little alarms have yet to be correct. We've not seen any measurable snow this year. Why post something, when people makes plans around the weather, only to not have said "alarms" be accurate? Just curious. And any influence you may have over getting NEPA a White Christmas this year would be most appreciated. We're tired of the balmy ones we've had over the last 3 years we've lived here.
Happy Weathering!

Henry,
Next weeks storm looks like another great lakes cutter. I think the euro has it right. All fall, none of the systems in the east have been in sync. I don't think this thing gets together until it is way north. Somewhere in Canada will get pounded. Your point yesterday about a strong high to the north I think is the most relevant. Also, the trough is not far enough east for a nor-easter. I could use your help this coming Feb 19th. Check out our website at thonexpress.org.

Looks like a LOT of warm air and rain all up and down the east coast. Again.
The lakes to western NY, up into Ontario may get snow, but the I-95 corrider, all through the Northeast, looks warm and wet.
Millions of people still waiting for the predicted snow and cold.

If the models are showing "tremendous cold air coming into the east by the end of next week" then why does the official AccuWeather forecast for Hagerstown Md. have temperatures ranging 48 to 54 from 12/12 through 12/15?

I have been watching for a couple of years. You said that you have never seen a tornado. Now I am curious. Have you ever seen a "big daddy" snow storm?

Hi Henry, the storm possiblity you are talking about next week, could it be something similar
to the snow storm that hit the Ohio valley back
in the beginning of March of this year?
Thank You,
Chris Erb
