Hi Henry,
Yes it's only December but as Mr. Bastardi has
said, this is a cold pattern. Things being equal
you would at least expect to see one east coast snow, albeit likely wet, in a pattern such as this. But that's clearly not what's happening. It would appear to me, and Elliot eluded to it, that the pattern set by this latest storm will be sending storms at best up the Appalacians and more likely to the west of them. From what I see from the runs I don't think there will be any significant snows in the east. I certainly hope I'm wrong but this looks like it's shaping up to be another wash out year for east coast snow. For whatever reason mother nature simply will not give us a coastal low. I suggest an Indian snow dance.

We had a squall move thru Hanover, PA today around 2:15 p.m. with heavy rain, strong winds, then a change to a mix of sleet, snow and rain - a flash of lightning followed quickly by a rumble of thunder! A slushy (light) accumulation was on the car. It was quite a surprise as the weather was beautiful all day up to this point and in the mid-40's. The storm only lasted several minutes and the sun reappeared and it was beautiful once again!

Herny, I'm afraid here is the cold hard truth for us I-95 folk:
As Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams reports, "A series of cold shots will move into the Midwest and head east this week and next, but there is no assurance any of this will bring snow of consequence to the Northeast coastal areas."
Abrams says that some computer models show, "...each time a storm develops, it will warm up and rain... or if precipitation starts as snow or ice, it will later change to rain."
Boo-who-who.....
