RadarPlus on Carolina Tropical Depression

Here are the latest views from Tropical Depression #3, off the Carolina coast this Saturday morning, courtesy the WRF initialization on AccuWeather.com RadarPlus. The Wrightsville Beach Pier gusted to 39 knots earlier this morning and the live webcams there (one & two) showed swells rolling in quickly. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the northern SC and NC coasts. AccuWeather.com Professional's Joe Bastardi [BIO] (PRO USERS READ NOW | 30-DAY FREE TRIAL) still thinks that Hurricane conditions are possible along the Outer Banks tonight.

DATA DISCLAIMER: This blog is written periodically on no certain schedule and may not contain the latest information on specific Tropical Storms. More up-to-date information is available in our our Hurricane Center (including the official AccuWeather.com EyePath™ for storms), in our Weather Headlines (at right) and on our Breaking Weather News Page.

The NHC estimates that the storm is near tropical storm strength, although they are sending the recon plane into the Caribbean instead of TD #3. They believe the storm will continue to roll up the Carolina coast (as we do) and could be named as Tropical Storm Cristobal later today.
