New Product Underscores AccuWeather's Continued Success in Product Development

(State College, PA - January 21, 2004) - AccuWeather.com announced today the donation of the initial production model of their latest weather presentation platform to Pennsylvania State University's new Information, Science and Technology Building. The first public showing of the WeatherStand, an interactive weather database that serves as a unique information, education and entertainment source, honors the dedication of the new home for the School of Information, Sciences and Technology.

AccuWeather.com is the New Media branch of AccuWeather, Inc., the global weather company headquartered in State College. AccuWeather has been creating innovative products and presentation systems to display weather information for over forty years, including the highly popular AccuWeather.com, the only source on the web for the Exclusive RealFeel Temperature®, Hour-by-Hour Forecasts™ and detailed 15-Day Forecasts™. This new WeatherStand initiative exemplifies AccuWeather's innovative-approach to the technology market.

The WeatherStand leverages the power of a broadband Internet connection to offer users an easy touch screen format to check local, regional and national weather information. With WeatherStand users can also access satellite and radar imagery, weather news and severe weather updates. Six Categories of weather trivia are also included so users can test their weather knowledge. A feature exclusive to this WeatherStand is the timeline showing the daily weather conditions during the construction of the new IST building.

"As a graduate, faculty member and now trustee, Penn State has played a major role in my life. We are pleased to donate our first WeatherStand as our way to recognize this major milestone in the continued development of Penn State as a recognized center for technology education," Dr. Joel N. Myers, AccuWeather Founder and President, said.
