The annual AMS awards are judged and granted by subcommittees within the organization, representing the world's leading experts in meteorology. In order to be eligible for consideration, the named individuals or enterprises must be endorsed in writing by at least three peers within the meteorological community.
Awards will be presented at the AMS 90th Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Ga. in January of 2010. The theme of the meeting is "Weather, Climate, and Society: New Demands on Science and Services."
