Despite a mild and dry weekend, a change is on the way this week.

Late Monday, a new storm will bring in rain showers that are expected to continue through the middle of the week.

Low temperatures Monday night and Tuesday will be in the mid-30s, allowing for a bit of sleet to mix in with rain and cause some travel delays across the area.

However, following temperatures in the 30s again on Wednesday, milder air will move into the region for week's end.

Highs are expected to surge into the mid-50s Thursday, which is about average for this time in February.

High pressure will dominate the Southeast for the weekend, allowing for a period of sunshine.
