The Royal Family released details Wednesday of the upcoming marriage between Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The marriage will take place Friday, Apr. 29, at 11 a.m. BST (6 a.m. EDT), at Westminster Abbey in London. The bride will travel to the abbey in a car, rather than the traditional carriage.
Although most weddings traditionally take place in the summer months, England enjoys mild springs.
The normal high temperature at Heathrow Airport on Apr. 29 is 58 degrees F (14.4 C), and the normal low is 44 degrees F (6.6 C).
London is comparable to Boston in terms of average temperature, with the cities averaging 52 and 53 degrees (11 C) on Apr. 29, respectively.
London averages 12.7 days of rain during the month of April, with an average of 1.5 inches (38.1 mm) of precipitation.
London is near the same latitude as Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where 9.2 inches (23.3 cm) of snow fell last April.
On the other hand, London snow in April is rare. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, warmer water from the southern latitudes make its way to the British Isles, providing milder air and rain rather than snow.
Details of the honeymoon location have not yet been released.
