As the weather turns a bit more fall-like in western Europe, some rainy weather will also be setting up from Spain through the United Kingdom and Ireland for much of the week.
A storm off the coastline the past few days has already brought some rain and drizzle from Spain and Portugal, through western France and into the U.K. and Ireland.
The heaviest of the rainfall is expected during the middle of the week as the center of the storm moves into Ireland and the United Kingdom. However, as the storm spins off the coastline, several bouts of rain are expected, especially near the Atlantic Ocean coastline.
The heaviest rainfall should fall for most locations in western Europe between Tuesday and Thursday. Though rain will not be heavy for any location on all three of these days, a soaking rainfall will occur for most areas at some point during this stretch.
Especially along the coastlines of western France and Portugal, these storms could be accompanied by a few gusty winds up to 40 kph (25 mph).
For the city of London, rain will begin late Tuesday night. This wave of rain will continue throughout the day on Wednesday. There will be brief break in the showers Wednesday night before another round of rain comes through Thursday.
The worst of the rain will be Thursday afternoon and evening. Lingering showers from the front will continue through early on Friday. Temperatures will remain between 17 and 19 degrees C (mid-60s F) with dry weather and sunshine to follow for the weekend.
For Paris, France, the initial round of rain will fall around midday on Thursday and will be the heaviest of the rain with this storm. A second round will come Friday with a few lighter showers. However, things dry out for the weekend with temperatures dropping back to about 19 C (66-68 degrees F) for Saturday and Sunday.
Behind the front, temperatures are expected to drop slightly with sunshine spreading from Portugal to central France and the UK.
