Warm weather is expected this week in Sochi, Russia, ahead of this weekend's start of the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
About 1,600 athletes from around the world are gathering this week for the start of the Games.
One thing that won't change in Sochi is the weather. It will be a warm venue for the Paralympics as it was for 2014 Winter Olympics, an AccuWeather.com meteorologist said.
High temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s for most of the week, Meteorologist Erik Pindrock said.
"There will be chances for showers through the week and into next weekend," Pindrock said.
The relay to bring the Paralympic Flame to Sochi made a stop Saturday at the birthplace of the Paralympic Movement, Stoke Mandeville in County Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.

The Relay slogan of "Overcoming. Winning. Inspiring." was chosen to honor Paralympic athletes, who, in spite of difficulties, find the strength to overcome obstacles, according to a Paralympic press release. They all share life stories of overcoming that embody the Paralympic values of courage, equality, determination and inspiration.
Events in this year's Paralympic Winter Games include alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice sledge hockey and wheelchair curling.
The Relay will end with the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games at Fisht Stadium on March 7.
The Games run through March 16.
