Are you one of the many people across the nation wearing green today to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? For those that are and who are planning to attend festivities for the holiday, the weather across much of the nation will not interfere.

Mother Nature must want to get in on the celebrations today, since some rain will keep a display of green on the radar across the South. The periods of rain will be most numerous over northern Florida and southern Georgia.

Dry and mild weather will prevail from the Southwest to the Northeast. The flood-ravaged Midwest will welcome the dry conditions, but warmer air will lead to more snowmelt and flooding problems.

Cooler air will press into the nation's northwest corner. A few showers will dot western Washington and the interior mountains.

In the spirit of the holiday, below is a more detailed St. Patrick's Day forecast for the sister-cities of Dublin, Ireland.

--Dublin, Calif.: Sunshine mixing with clouds. High 68.

--Dublin, Ga.: Mostly cloudy and cooler with periods of rain. High 54.

--Dublin, Ind.: Mostly sunny and nice. High 60.

--Dublin, Md.: Abundant sunshine and mild. High 62.

--Dublin, Miss.: Mostly cloudy. High 61.

--Dublin, N.H.: Sunny and nice. High 59.

--Dublin, Ohio: Mostly sunny and beautiful. High 62.

--Dublin, Va.: Milder as sunshine mixes with clouds. High 59.
