Pittsburgh: Warmer Sunday in Store Ahead of Monday Rain

By by Alex Sosnowski, senior meteorologist.
    April 07, 2014, 1:21:27 AM EDT

A warmer Sunday is in store for Pittsburgh ahead of another batch of rain for early next week.

In the wake of locally drenching rain and gusty thunderstorms from Friday night, stiff winds from the west and northwest will bring cooler air into the region on Saturday. Just a couple of spots may get a passing shower on Saturday.

Temperatures will peak near 50 on Saturday.

The nicer of the two weekend days will be Sunday with sunshine, less wind and a warmer afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to rise into the lower 60s.

A new storm forecast to brew near the Gulf coast this weekend will swing northeastward early next week with a dose of drenching rain.
