No Rain, Just Warmth in Store for Harrisburg Into Saturday

By By Alex Sosnowski, expert senior meteorologist.
    October 04, 2013, 1:15:10 AM EDT

Rain-free weather with summerlike warmth will continue around the Harrisburg area and much of southern and central Pennsylvania into the weekend.

A zone of high pressure will continue to hover around the Atlantic Seaboard keeping the atmosphere dry enough to prevent rain from developing in place or keep it from moving in from the west.

Daytime highs will generally be in the 80s with night time lows within a few degrees of 60s.

The pattern will be very favorable for outdoor plans and construction projects.

The only potential travel problem will be patchy morning fog for commuters.

A weak system may try to produce spotty showers over the northern Appalachians toward the weekend.

It may not be until early next week when a cold front from the Midwest and perhaps a tropical system from the Gulf of Mexico combine forces to bring the next chance of rain to central and southern Pennsylvania and much of the Atlantic Seaboard.

Until then, temperatures will continue to average well above normal and rain will avoid the area.
