Generally dry weather with only the slight chance of a shower is in store for the first couple of days of the summer games in London. However, a return to a wet pattern looms.
Saturday
A mix of clouds and sun with a near-normal temperature is anticipated for Saturday. The normal high for London is 71 degrees F (or 21.7 degrees C).
"There could be a brief, passing shower, but most of the day will be dry," AccuWeather Meteorologist Eric Leister said.

Sunday
The weather will turn more unsettled on Sunday, while moisture from a storm over the Atlantic streams into England. Scattered showers and perhaps a heavy thunderstorm will be around. Any heavy downpours or lightning could be a disruption to outdoor events.
Increased clouds and showers will hold the temperature down a few degrees, reaching the mid-to upper 60s (around 19 degrees C).
Monday
Following showery weather on Sunday, drier weather with partly sunny skies will return on Monday. The high will be below-normal in the low-to mid 60s (17.8 degrees C).
Around August 6th, the pattern will revert back into a very wet period with frequent storms arriving. Above-normal rainfall and below-normal temperatures will be around.
Severe thunderstorms with the risk of a few tornadoes will advance eastward across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest into Friday.
A dangerous outbreak of severe storms will strike the northern High Plains and Canadian Prairies on Wednesday.
