Los Angeles: A Gradual Warmup Through the Weekend

By By Jordan Root, AccuWeather.com Meteorologist
    May 23, 2014, 6:43:40 AM EDT

Although temperatures will remain much cooler compared to last week, they will slowly rise through Memorial Day weekend.

A stubborn upper-level disturbance, which brought a rush of cooler air over the weekend, continues to churn slowly across the Southwest.

Temperatures will begin to rise over the next couple of days as this disturbance creeps east, but no big jumps are expected and certainly no blistering heat like last week.

Friday will feature plenty of sunshine with highs in the low-70s.

Memorial Day weekend will be nice with temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. Clouds will linger early but will yield to plenty of sunshine during the afternoon.

A return to the 80s is expected for Memorial Day. Folks with any outdoor plans are advised to keep them. Plenty of sunshine will provide a rather enjoyable day.
