By By Kristina Pydynowski, senior meteorologist

Memorial Day is shaping up to be warm for Harrisburg but only after fresh cool air returns.

Following stormy weather on Thursday morning, drier weather will return in the afternoon, as temperatures rise to the middle 70s.

Cooler and less humid air will arrive for Friday and Saturday, but another shower or thunderstorm will still be around. Temperatures will be held to the lower 70s.

A high of around 74 F is more common this time of year.

The weather will improve for outdoor holiday festivities Sunday and Monday as temperatures rebound.

Memorial Day will be a great day for picnics, parades and other outdoor celebrations underneath some sunshine. Temperatures will rise to around the 80-degree mark as humidity remains low.
