    The weekend started on a snowy note in Minneapolis and will end on a brutally cold note.

    Fresh arctic air sent temperatures plummeting to below zero in Minneapolis Saturday night.

    There will not be much recovery in temperatures on Sunday with a high of only 6 F expected.

    A high of 27 F and a low of 12 F is more typical in mid-December.

    Clouds will also win out over sunshine on Sunday, but dry weather will prevail.
