Warmer Weather in Detroit Through Midweek

After a spell of abnormally cool weather, warmer air is heading for the Motor City through the middle of this week.

Highs will jump to near 80 F on Wednesday after climbing into the 70s this week.

The warmer and more humid air will be the fuel for thunderstorm development Wednesday. The threat for any severe thunderstorms will be well south of Detroit midweek.

Overnight lows for the week will hover around 50 F.

High temperatures are expected to drop to the low 70s by the end of the week, which is right around normal for this time of year.

Looking ahead to the Memorial Day weekend, warmer air should remain and bring rain-free weather for the holiday weekend through Sunday.

However, a passing afternoon shower may dampen the holiday on Monday.
