The tropics are getting busy with two critters to follow; one moving into the Gulf of Mexico steering a lot of moisture into parts of the Southeast.
The heat is about to ease for a few days in Texas while it stays unsettled and muggy in the Southeast. Meanwhile, there are concerns in the tropics.
Hot and dry weather will persist over much of Texas and Oklahoma, the Southeast stays more seasonable with afternoon thunderstorms, and we'll keep an eye on two critters in the tropics.
The Southeast will stay seasonably hot and muggy through this weekend with many places seeing afternoon thunderstorms. Back in Texas and Oklahoma, only a few storms will be seen in the next few days then it gets dry and very hot.
Midsummer heat and humidity continues to cover a lot of the South. Some areas get cooling afternoon storms.
Tropical humidity will return to the Southeast in the coming days, leading to afternoon thunderstorms.
The heat is on down south and humidity is on the rise, the muggy air will stick around for a while.
