We're returning to more typical summertime weather with Texas hot and the Southeast steamy with spotty thunderstorms. The tropics remain quiet except for Wali's remains affecting Hawaii.
As the wet weather shifts east, the heat will build back west of the Mississippi again ... not that it won't warm back up in the Southeast, too. The tropics remain quiet except out by Hawaii.
The unusually nice weather in the Southeast won't last long. Meanwhile downpours will lead to flooding problems farther west the next few days.
It will get hot and steamy this weekend but we still expect to see cooler air arrive next week. The front leading the cooler air south will bring some areas active weather for several days.
