  • Beryl Going Where Few Storms Go

    May 26, 2012; 1:30 AM ET

Beryl's unusual track will take it toward the Georgia and North Florida coasts, which do not get hit often. Elsewhere, the weekend heat may end with a big bang in a lot of places next week.

  • More Tropical Troubles and a Heat Wave

    May 24, 2012; 6:15 PM ET

Low pressure off Florida might become a second preseason storm over the next few days. Meanwhile, it looks HOT and dry farther west through the Memorial Day weekend.

  • Gonna Get HOT

    May 21, 2012; 10:30 PM ET

Over the next week, and upper level ridge will replace the trough now over the Southeast, leading to some midsummer heat for parts of the region. Florida will likely moisten up, too.

  • Alberto!

    May 19, 2012; 7:00 PM ET

The critter off the Carolinas was declared a tropical storm today and will be a thorn in our side the next couple of days.

  • Tropical Critters and A Few Strong Storms

    May 18, 2012; 10:45 PM ET

There remain two areas of interest for long-shot development in the Atlantic while Aletta spins down in the East Pacific. Heat will continue to build over much of the South.

  • Tropical Troubles?

    May 16, 2012; 10:30 PM ET

Two ways it could happen but both ways look like long shots at this point. The East Pacific is looking more lively, though.

  • More Storms Tomorrow

    May 15, 2012; 7:30 PM ET

One more active day tomorrow, then it will quiet down some, except in Florida.

  • Two More Stormy Days

    May 14, 2012; 7:00 PM ET

... before we get a bit of a break in the action and a mostly quiet weekend. It's gonna get hot west of the Mississippi, too, and for some areas east of the Mississippi.

  • Tornadoes and Big Rains

    May 10, 2012; 9:45 PM ET

Drenching Downpours and Tornadoes hit Texas today. More storms will hit farther east in the coming days.

  • Puddle Heading East

    May 9, 2012; 10:45 PM ET

After a short spell of relative quiet, the storm over the deserts and Mexico now will slowly drift across the South. Oh, and about that tropical critter...

  • Chasing Puddles

    May 8, 2012; 10:45 PM ET

It's Van Gundy season! Puddles of cold air left behind as the jet stream retreats will be responsible for more concentrated stormy areas over the next few weeks.
