VIDEO: Great White Shark Swims Through Massachusetts Beach

A great white shark was spotted at Duxbury Beach in Massachusetts earlier this week, forcing evacuations of the water.

Local residents explained the close encounter the animal had with swimmers and fishing enthusiasts trying to enjoy the sunny day.

Great white sharks are not unheard of in the area, though they are very rare. Sightings increase in the summer months when warmer waters usher in more favorable feeding conditions for the sharks at more northern waters.
