Minneapolis: Wet, Stormy Weather Ushers in June

By By Kristen Rodman, AccuWeather.com Staff Writer

After heavy and gusty thunderstorms moved through the area Sunday evening, the heaviest storms will move on from the Minneapolis area. Yet, wet weather could persist into midweek.

Minneapolis received 2.33 inches of rain from midnight to 8 a.m. CDT on Sunday, which AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline states is slightly more than half of the city's typical June rainfall.

With the ground saturated from that rainfall and more thunderstorms set to roll through into Monday, flash flooding is a concern.

Temperatures will rise to around the 80-degree mark on Monday.

Dry weather will make a return for Tuesday with morning clouds giving way to afternoon sun, providing the city a break from the stormy weather. Highs will drop into the upper-70s.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with highs remaining in the uper-70s. A couple of showers could arise.

By Thursday and Friday, the wet weather should finally pass. Times of clouds and sun are expected Thursday and mostly sunny skies are expected Friday. Highs both days will approach 75 F.
