A couple of points this morning.
1. With the big high coming down, the eastern Gulf of Mexico is the place to watch for any development along the old front. Big highs this time of the year add spin into the tropics, especially along the old frontal boundaries. If a low develops, it could mean heavy rains for parts of the Southeast and up the spine of the Appalachians.
2. Severe storms will develop along the I-95 corridor from Boston to Raleigh Tuesday afternoon. Impacts will be wind damage, hail and heavy rains.
More showers and thunderstorms this weekend which can produce heavy rains again.
A system that started in the Gulf of Mexico is coming northeast and will bring a swath of heavy rains.
A tropical low coming Northeast will produce a corridor of heavy rains.
Storms will fire over the High Plains today. Later this week, heavy rains may come north.
Severe storms will hit areas from Pennsylvania to New Jersey today. The storms will be packing high winds.
The heat is on from the Plains into the East.
