The severe storms will be in the Ohio Valley today as shown. Another area of potential severe weather will be across central Pennsylvania ahead of a defined upper-level system coming up from southwestern Pennsylvania. In each area, wind damage and hail be the main threats.

Friday, the severe threat shifts into the Appalachians and the mid-Atlantic where wind damage, hail and a few tornadoes will occur once again.
Between today and Friday, pockets of heavy rains will cause urban flooding problems, especially across the southern Great Lakes today where heavy rains may develop north of the low track.
A tropical low coming Northeast will produce a corridor of heavy rains.
Storms will fire over the High Plains today. Later this week, heavy rains may come north.
Severe storms will hit areas from Pennsylvania to New Jersey today. The storms will be packing high winds.
The heat is on from the Plains into the East.
The storms will continue around the edge of the heat wave.
