TS Andrea Flooding Rains and Tornadoes... Severe Weather in the Plains

    June 7, 2013; 10:32 AM ET

The track of Andrea will take it across southeastern Virginia and off the Jersey shore by tonight and to a point off Cape Cod by Saturday morning. On that track, heavy rains will spread up the I-95 corridor affecting areas from Richmond to Boston. In that area, rainfall will total 1-5 inches with flooding problems. The tornado threat will remain across North Carolina and southeastern Virginia today.

Speaking of severe weather, the system diving into the Plains this weekend will spark a series of severe storms and the potential for tornadoes as shown on the map. A secondary area of severe weather may form in the Midwest Sunday from Wisconsin to Illinois and perhaps into southern Missouri and western Kentucky.
