1. I think today will be the worst day for tornadoes because the jet will rotate out of the Rockies and hit the southern Plains by this evening. The jet will be much stronger today than over the weekend running at 90+ knots. That strong jet will lead to intense upward motion and the development of supercell thunderstorms/more tornadoes.
2. I do think we will see over 25 tornadoes today, some that will be large and destructive.
3. The storms will calm down some Tuesday but still will produce a swath of wind damage, large hail and an isolated tornado.
Heavy storms will hit parts of New Mexico with heavy rains and gusty winds.
The band of heavy rains should end tonight, allowing drier weather to move in.
Heavy rains associated with the upper-level low will hit the Carolinas into Virginia. Some areas could get over a foot of rain by Monday!
The heavy rains are still coming and someone is going to have up to a foot of rain and flooding.
Major problems the end of the week and weekend as another round of flooding rains occur and Joaquin could impact the mid-Atlantic.
The Northeast will be the center for flooding rains through the weekend. Joaquin could bring troubles late in the weekend.
