The Cold is Coming... Storm Still on the Maps for Next Week

March 20, 2014; 9:49 AM ET

1. The cold weather is on the way, and for the end of March, this is going to be a brutally cold air mass from the northern Plains into the Northeast. Departures could be a low as 30 degrees below the averages in some areas. Here's some good news; the operational models indicate the cold moves out by Thursday and a warming trend starts and should last through next weekend.

2. The storm is still on the maps for next week. I still think it's a Virginia special again in regards to snow. I guess it's not out of the question that snow could fall down to North Carolina as well. The potential is there for a 4- to 8-inch snowstorm next week.
