Sustained Cold and Clippers

January 16, 2014; 10:01 AM ET

1. No major storms, only clippers, the next two weeks. NAO remains positive, so no East Coast storms. However, I can see how one of the clippers brings some extra snow to the Northeast next week.

2. The cold that is coming will stay around through the end of the month. This will be sustained cold and not as extreme as earlier this month. By Groundhog Day, people will be complaining about the cold across the eastern two-thirds of the country.

3. If you like snow, I think February is going to be stormy!
