Comment on the Tropics
The pattern that I see developing after mid-month is one that may produce tropical threats for the East Coast. The danger in a pattern like this is widespread flooding coming on the heals of a wet summer across the East. If a storm were to move into the Appalachians where the rains have been the heaviest, the result could be devastating. It's just a concern for now, but one we need to watch over the next two weeks.

The models keep digging the storm south which means the snow showers as far south as North Carolina.
A winter blast of cold and snow will hit the Northeast Saturday. Record highs may occur today.
Ana will hit the Pacific Northwest with wind and rain, and then will bring snow and cold to the Northeast.
In the video, I look at the tropics and specifically the western Caribbean. Also, a look at Ana coming into the Pac NW Tuesday.
Coastal storm will bring heavy rains and street flooding for the Northeast. Ana is still out there and will head into the Pac Nw next week.
