Comment on the Tropics
The pattern that I see developing after mid-month is one that may produce tropical threats for the East Coast. The danger in a pattern like this is widespread flooding coming on the heals of a wet summer across the East. If a storm were to move into the Appalachians where the rains have been the heaviest, the result could be devastating. It's just a concern for now, but one we need to watch over the next two weeks.
Stormy weather through Wednesday. Expect more snow, heavy rain, maybe flooding and severe storms.
Winter may go out kicking and screaming as the pattern becomes stormy heading into March.
Snow will cut across the South through tonight. Snow will also hit the Midwest today.
A storm will bring more snow to the South Wednesday into Thursday. A quick moving 3-6 inches of snow.
The snow and ice will be across the South as a series of storms moves through the Southern jet.
A messy storm Saturday. Expect heavy snow, ice, heavy rains and possible severe storms.
