Here are the snow maps for this weekend's snowfall. This is a case of cold sloshing down and waves of low pressure running along the fronts. Not until we can get the PNA to go positive can we get a storm to wind up despite the negative NAO. So with the PNA not positive, we will tend to see mean trough position in the Rockies and an up-and-down temperature pattern for the eastern part of the country.

Tornadoes could be worse today given the jet coming out into the Plains.
We are going into a five- to seven-day period of severe weather which will include tornadoes. We could see over 100 reports of tornadoes.
