Snow for the Northern Plains. NAO Remains Positive!

1. The NAO remains positive and does not appear to be going negative anytime soon. Looking back, we have not had a negative NAO month since August and we had Irene and Lee hit the Northeast with severe flooding when that happened.

2. Snow the first part of the week will be centered around the northern Plains. Most accumulations will remain under 4 inches, so not a big storm for the Plains.

3. Later this week, a shot of cold weather is coming and both the GFS and Euro have a storm developing across the eastern Great Lakes. This will set up an extended period of cold weather from the West into the Northeast from late this week into next week. Not the coldest of weather coming, but certainly more normal cold for the end of February.
