While we may have overhyped the potential for tornadoes yesterday, I am happy that nothing happened because we had enough loss of life Monday.
Today, the severe weather will be centered over Ohio into western New York and Ontario with an area surrounding that of heavy thunderstorms. In all areas, the storms will produce damaging wind gusts and hail. It's not out of the question that a brief tornado occurs anyway in the areas shown, especially along the warm front stretching across New York.

The band of snow and ice that develops this weekend will be bad in Kansas but more of a nuisance through the Ohio Valley.
As milder weather moves north, it will mean snow will hit the Great Lakes and Northeast today into tonight. California will get more heavy rain.
