Severe Storms Around the Rim of the Heat

June 16, 2014; 11:54 AM ET

Map below shows the moderate risk of severe weather in the Plains today. Looks nasty out there the next 12-18 hours. A complex of storms should develop tonight across Iowa into Wisconsin including parts of southern Minnesota. That area will see damaging winds, hail and heavy rains. Overall, it's a rough week of severe weather as the trough comes out of the Rockies and slowly grids it's way through the Great Lakes.
