Potential Severe Weather Outbreak Next Week and Beyond

    April 17, 2014; 11:27 AM ET

Video will be ready a little later today.

Next week, we are going into a severe weather pattern for the Plains, one that will probably bring a round of tornadoes. Looking at the GFS, the pattern overall shows trough after trough coming into the Plains in a manner that would bring rounds of severe weather. Wednesday and Thursday of next week look wicked to me from Nebraska to Oklahoma in regards to severe weather. The EHI numbers are very high across that area. The low-level jet is ripping north at 70 knots according to the GFS, so all this means get ready for a rough time next week.
