Next Storm Will Bring Snow and More Storms

March 05, 2012; 8:23 AM

Comments.

1. The snow falling across Virginia will end by this afternoon. This is going to be one of the last snow events in the East as a surge of spring weather is on the way. It might be a struggle for folks in New England to get the warmth, but they too will have some spring warmth eventually.

2. The next system that will come through the West with snow should get into the southern Plains by Thursday. That means snow will spread through Colorado into the Texas Panhandle. Not that we have not seen that before this year.

3. Heavy thunderstorms will develop across Texas into western Tennessee Thursday. Not sure on the severity just yet, but right now it looks like heavy rain and hail will be the main threats.

Marginal severe weather the rest of the week, but the weekend could turn ugly in the Plains as the tornadoes return.
