1. The NAO is very low and is going down to -2 in a few days. This time of the year, it means more cool/dry weather across the eastern part of the country for the rest of the week.
2. Tropics remain quiet, but GFS is hinting that around Oct. 3, things may get interesting for Florida or the Southeast. Keep in mind, the pattern since last spring seems to be running about a month behind, so it makes sense that early October is when things get interesting.
3. Snow is coming to parts of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. Looks like snowfall over 6 inches for many areas of western Wyoming. See the GFS snowfall totals map below.
We are seeing the SOI values crashing again as the El Nino continues to pulse. Weather should get active again next week.

The winds will be damaging across the northern Plains today. Expect gusts over 60 mph!
The week will start stormy for the Northern Plains with severe weather followed by high winds.
Next week will start of with severe weather and will end with a tropical threat aong the East coasty.
