More on the Tropics... Less on Severe Weather

Aug 24, 2010; 8:36 AM ET

We are in a lull of severe weather for now, so the focus will be mainly on the tropics. Keep in mind, the second severe weather season will begin at the end of September and last into early November. After that, it's snow season again... Yea...

In the tropics, we should have TD 7 today way out in the Atlantic. TD 7 will become Earl, which will follow Danielle into the Atlantic.

The cluster of storms off of Tampa needs to be watched for development. I already see some circulation developing in the area, so it might try and spin up to a tropical depression.
