I had to shift gears this morning because the models have led my down the wrong road the past couple of days. I should have stayed with my gut feeling on the development of the closed low in the South and that was not going to happen, but after several runs of showing it there, I bit on it and now it appears it's not going to form. So with that said, I shift the severe weather north as shown on the map below. Impacts will be mainly wind damage and hail, as we have seen across parts of Minnesota this morning.
Tropics wall remains around the U.S. as the next system will once again head into Mexico and cause more flooding problems.
Snow for Minneapolis on north today into tonight. A severe weather pattern occurs next week.
Snow will hit the Northeast today then the Upper Midwest Wednesday.
Snow across the Great Lakes and Heavy Storms across the South and East Coast.
The weather will become active this weekend as snow hits the Rockies and severe storms hit the Plains.
A more active weather pattern next week as a chilly airmass comes south.
Storms today in the mid-Atlantic can have a small hail. About the storm next week.
