Longer Range Looks Active in the Plains and West

1. The weather will be like a see-saw with the East having summer warmth and the West having cold and stormy weather. Parts of the West will get hit hard by snow and heavy rain. I posted a map below showing the area of possible snow later this week. I think it may even snow over the hills of southern California.

2. Late in the weekend and early next week, severe weather in the Plains will become the focus. The map below shows the area of highest risk of thunderstorms as we go into next week.

3. The warmth will continue well into next week with the Northeast the battle ground of chilldowns as backdoor cold fronts come on through. Even parts of northern Maine could get some snow next week.
