Latest on the Snowstorm. Banding With up to 6 Inches

January 21, 2014; 9:53 AM ET

Here's a surface map showing where the heavy band of snow will set up.

Where the arctic front sets up is where the heaviest snow band will go. Right now, it looks like from NYC to Dulles airport is where the front will settle. Radar is showing the banding setting up north and west of D.C. and Baltimore this morning. That may shift some as we go through the day. Snow rates could hit 2 inches per hour in that band this afternoon.

Southern New England will get the snow into Wednesday morning with the Cape once again getting hit by almost blizzard conditions.

GFS suggests will do this all over again next Monday!
