Latest on the Blizzard and Severe Storms

Commentary

1. The map below shows the snowfall for the blizzard breaking out in the northern Plains and northern Rockies. This will be a very bad storm for that part of the country in regards to the snow, wind and very cold weather. I do expect that some roads will be closed due to the icy conditions and blowing snow. The snow should make it all the way to Denver, but it will be light snow at that.

2. Not much has changed in regards to the severe weather. It still looks like storms break out in the Plains and form into a 1,000-mile-long squall line that goes from the northern Great Lakes to Texas. Impacts from the storms will be mainly strong winds and hail.
