As mentioned yesterday, Sunday will be the active day for severe weather and the potential for significant damaging winds and tornadoes.
We will see an initial outbreak of severe weather Saturday afternoon across the western Dakotas. That area could get damaging winds and large hail.
The big outbreak will happen Sunday afternoon into Sunday night as shown on the map. The storms may produce winds over 70 mph, large hail up to baseball size and a few large tornadoes. I remain impressed that this will be our biggest outbreak in weeks across the Midwest.
Storms will continue to roam along the front today. Some of the storms will become severe. More storms will hit the Upper Midwest Sunday.
