Last Day of Severe Weather With This Storm

April 30, 2014; 9:39 AM ET

The focus of the severe weather will be on two areas today.

The first area will be across eastern Virginia into eastern North Carolina and South Carolina. That area will get severe storms this afternoon that can produce damaging wind gusts, hail and a tornado. The storms will hit that area between noon and 6 p.m.

The second area will be across western Pennsylvania and West Virginia late this afternoon into the evening. That area could have storms that produce damaging wind gusts and flash flooding rain.

Heavy rains will also hit areas from eastern Pennsylvania into southern New England. Rainfall over 2 inches will occur, and that can result in flash flooding.
