1. Below is the combo map of potential storm tracks for the system in Gulf of Mexico. Whether the system gets named or even develops into a tropical depression is not really that important. What is important are the impacts any system that forms will cause. Right now I think heavy rains and flooding across Florida and up along the East Coast east of I-95 will be the main impacts from the system from Thursday to Saturday.
2. Severe weather will return to the Plains Tuesday and Wednesday. While there can be a few storms over the High Plains today, I think the area from Kansas into Oklahoma will get more significant storms Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. We may once again see tornadoes and flash flooding which seems to be the rule of thumb the last couple of weeks in that area.
