A Swath of Wintry Mix and Snow Comes Northeast

January 14, 2013; 11:14 AM ET

Below is my map for the swath of wintry mix coming northeastward. I think once the precipitation gets into Pennsylvania, it will become more snow through New England Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. While not a big deal in regards to the amount of snow, it could be our only snow for a while as we get into a cold and dry weather pattern across much of the East.

The PNA is going positive and the NAO is going positive too, which means there will be no big storms along the coast.

Heavy storms along the front today. System in the tropics is having problems but should get its act together soon.

  • Development slow due to track

Track of tropical system critical for development, but South Florida could be threatened first.
