Updated Lake-Effect Snow Map, also more Storms

December 21, 2012; 3:42 PM

Here is our updated snowfall map this evening through Saturday for just lake-enhanced snowfall.

The best chance for any accumulating snow in the GTA would be from 3am to 8am Saturday when the southeastern edge of the Georgian Bay lake-effect band gets close before weakening later in the morning.

Latest indications are that the main southern Lake Huron band will setup just to the west of London, Ont. this evening, but then may drift into London overnight before weakening.

Strong winds will continue across parts of southeastern Quebec, eastern New England and into Nova Scotia tonight.

Potential still there for a major snowstorm for interior Northeast U.S. and parts of eastern and Atlantic Canada next week

Welcome to official winter!
