The weather pattern later this week will produce a significant temperature contrast from west to east. The jet stream will collapse across the Midwest and allow a shot of September-like air into the Midwest and Great Lakes.

In the West, the core of the heat relative to normal will be centered along the Pacific Northwest, especially from Seattle, Wash., to Medford, Ore.

Heavy rain will continue into Friday across the western Prairies with snow in the higher elevations.
We have potential severe weather in the East this evening and the potential for heavy rainfall Thursday and Friday for parts of Alberta.
